What with the international call ups giving Forest a week off and what seems like a news embargo at the City Ground there hasn't been much to shout about regarding Nottingham Forest this week.
Having said that the forums have been as lively as ever. Probably the most talked about subject is the future of manager Colin Calderwood and how long he will last in the job without a win. I'd hazard a guess that the majority of Vital posters, whilst not entirely happy with CC are prepared to give him until Christmas at least.
London Red posted a well written piece on why CC was at fault for failing to win promotion last year. Whilst not calling for the managers head, he certainly argued the blame lay firmly at his door.
Matty Fryatt became the latest player to be linked with us, courtesy of the rumour mill of course. The opinion of fans on his potential signing was split 50/50 as to whether it would be a good thing or not. nffcsavechip said, 'It would be an interesting move for CC to make and would give further physical power up front. But also asked if it would signal the way for Grant Holts' departure. Wemaybefamousagain though, was a little less enthralled stating. ' Matty Fryatt has been found out at bit at championship level and I am not sure he is 'all that' quite frankly. If we did get a striker I would prefer a big target man as we do not have anyone who can hold up the ball that well. Holty just keeps falling over.'
