Holt- Beat Leicester Not Megson

Former Forest boss Gary Megson returns to the City Ground for the first time tonight since his departure 18 months ago.

Megson can be sure of a noisy welcome as he brings his Leicester side to the City Ground for the 2nd round of the Carling Cup. This will be his first game for the Foxes that he has taken full control of, as he didn't pick the team for the weekend fixture against QPR.

This game will be hard enough for the Reds without the added shenanigans brought along by the Megson factor. Grant Holt has rightly pointed out that the game is against Leicester and not their manager. He told the Nottingham Evening Post . 'We are looking forward to the game - we all know what we need to do. The main objective is to win the game - not to worry about the manager. I think it might be a bit of a sideshow. But a lot of the players here now were not here under Gary. We don't have a problem with it. It is about beating Leicester, not beating one person.'

He's right of course, as the arrival of Megson could detract from the real job in hand. Try telling that to the fans though. They will remember the time under Megson as one of the worse periods in the clubs history. Fair play to Megson though, as he has tried to play down the intensity of the fixture. He has told various sources that he enjoyed his time at the City Ground and the place has some fantastic people working there. Nice try Gary.

I think you can win this game if you get at them, hopefuly you might get a few more fans through the gate this time.

Nearly as many empty seats at the bridge tonight from what I can see. Pathetic.

We had 15,000 empty seats for a Carling cup game, they had 18,000 vacant for a Champions league match!!!
