'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Feel Good Factor Back At City Ground

After Nottingham Forest earned themselves their first home victory of the season in such emphatic style at the weekend, Calderwood and the lads (including the backroom staff) assembled on the pitch for a celebratory huddle. It was a strange sight to be honest, but good to see nonetheless.

Forest have, since the start of this season done this huddle thing before every game. But this is the first time I've seen a side do it at the end of a game. I think I like it. I say think, because there's something a little odd about seeing a group of guys basically cuddling each other. But it does show the high level of morale that must be present in the squad and we all know how much Colin likes a happy camp and preaches the team spirit and togetherness of the group thingy.

Calderwood told the Nottingham Evening Post . 'Ian Breckin spoke and Neil Lennon spoke and we just said that it was fantastic, that we had set ourselves a marker, I think the reaction of the crowd to it was good. We just wanted to show the unity of the group. We wanted to transmit that unity we have to the fans. I believe there is a real strength growing between the fans and the team. They must appreciate what the players are trying to achieve.'

Well, you can't help but appreciate a 4-0 win really, especially when it's done playing attactive football. As good as this victory was though, we should keep our feet on the ground. Having said that, after everything us long suffering fans have been through in recent years, it is good to see the 'togetherness of the group.' Maybe the good times are returning.
