Holt - Playing Through Pain Barrier

Forest striker Grant Holt is to undergo a hernia operation, but for the time being is prepared to play through the pain barrier according to the official site.

Holt picked up a groin strain towards the end of last season and it was hoped that with rest and recuperation during the summer it would heal itself. Now though, the club says he needs to have a hernia op.

Colin Calderwood told the official site. 'We've got to look at our schedule because we want to give him time to recover, but also miss the minimum amount of games.'

Calderwood went on to say that Holt was prepared to play until it was impossible and that he had struggled through some games. The big question, is when is a good time to have the operation? The club says they want to time it as so he only misses a couple of games.

Should Grolty have had the op in the summer, or is he right to play through the pain? Join in the debate on the Forum and have your say.
