Vital Forest League 1 Review

The Mighty Reds moved to within a point of the League leaders with a comfortable 3-0 win away at Cheltenham, thanks to hatrick hero Kris Commons. Forest have a game in hand and have not lost in 7 games. They now look to be living up to their billing as title favourites with an impressive run of form.

Lucky Leeds United could only manage a draw against 10 man Orient. Sean Thornton played the role of hero come villain, putting the O's in front after 9 mins only to be given a straight red on 32. Tresor Kandol even missed a penalty for the home side.

Southend in 4th, who are level on points with the Reds continued their fine run with an easy 3-0 win at home to Crewe, whilst Carlisle in 5th missed out on the chance to go top with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Yeovil.

Port Vale's poor run shows no sign of ending, as they were beaten 1-0 at home to Brighton. At present they sit only one place off bottom and they could find themselves rooted to the foot of the table depending on today's result between Bournemouth and Swansea. The Swans though, could go top if they win. Also playing today are next weeks opponents Doncaster Rovers, who are at home to Huddersfield.

Its getting tight at the top but the pre-season favourites are starting to show their mettle. The Swans are looking good in particular and could represent our biggest challengers along with Leeds.
