'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McCommons For Scotland

In his diary column for icons.com, Forest's man of the moment Kris Commons says. 'Things are going great at the moment and everyone in the squad just wants the games to keep coming so we don't lose any momentum.

'We had a shaky start to the season, not winning in our first six league and cup matches and we didn't score until our fourth game. But we've now won five and drawn one of our last six matches and we're back on course.

'Obviously I'm happy with my form and I'm working really hard to maintain it. I know what I can do and I want to show it week after week. Not a lot of people know that I actually qualify to play for Scotland and it would be fantastic if my form brought me to the notice of the national manager Alex McLeish.'

Not sure if his right to play for Scotland is based on the fact his grandmother is Scottish, or the fact that he's seen Braveheart at the cinema.

If I had been any good at football I would have qulaified for England or Eire but would not consider playing for anyone else but England. It seems strange to call yourself English but then change nationality just to play interntional football.

Would it not be because he's never going to make it far enough to be ever considered for England?
