McParland - Back In Business

McParland left the City Ground in the summer after a backroom reshuffle. Rumours on the message boards at the time were that he and Calderwood never got on and so David Kerslake replaced him as first team coach.

Forest fans will best remember Charlie Mac for the partnership he formed with Frank Barlow in the aftermath of the Megson era. The pair took the Reds from relegation fodder to playoff hopefuls in a matter of weeks. The rest as they say is history.

McParland takes over at Notts after the sacking of Steve Thompson earlier this week. He's a former player of the Magpies and spent eight years there. Even though they are rivals, I think it safe to say that most Reds will wish him well.

He'll do a decent job for the Sadpies given the chance.
