Have Forest Missed A Trick?

Forest need a replay in the 1st round of the FA Cup with League 2 side Lincoln City after the 1-1 draw at Sincil Bank. The replay will take place at the City Ground on November 27, KO 7.45pm.

The club have today announced details of the ticketing arrangements for the game, but have they missed a trick with the pricing?

Tickets are priced at. £17.00 for adults
£12.00 for seniors and £6.00 for under 16's. That's not exactly cheap for a first round replay against a team bottom of the Football League. They also say that the Upper Brigford stand will be closed.

Last week the club managed to get 26,000 through the doors for the game against Southend with some clever pricing. They charged a fiver a time and spectators lapped it up. Not bad considering it was a Tuesday night in November.

Obviously the club can't do this on a regular basis and in their defence they do need the agreement of the opposing team to do this. But surely it's more prudent to lower prices and get more through the gates, than to charge top dollar and get less. Fair enough £17 is cheaper than a normal match day ticket, but it's not that much cheaper.

At these prices the game will be lucky to attract an attendance of any more than 15,000, probably nearer 10,000. They could have made up the extra with sales in catering, programmes and the extra few bums on seats.

Do you think the club has overpriced the game. or do you agree with it? Join in the debate on the forum today.

In a word 'YES'. A tenner a pop would have seen 20k turn up, as it is they will get 7/8k and probably lose money. I would have thought that Forest wanted the game to played in front of a big crowd but obviously not.

£17! We are going to get a very disappointing crowd

At Millmoor we are charging £18 if bought before the game and £20 on the night! And we are playing a non league team at that. But I have been told that its FA ruling that League prices have to be charged for the first round - if thats true or not I don't know. We are charging £5 for U16's

It is true that the FA have a ruling on the pricing. But it says clubs must charge a minimum of £10 for 1st round games. I feel sorry for you at those prices though.
