'If It's Football, It's Vital'

NFFC Should Listen To The Fans

The latest Vital Forest poll question was 'How much would you pay for an FA Cup replay ticket?' A resounding 61% said a maximum of £5-10 would have been the right price.

Lincoln City are at present bottom of the Football League, so hardly the most attractive show in town. Fans on the message boards have said they think the prices being charged by the club are too steep.

Last week the club announced that tickets would cost £17 for adults and £6 for kids (U16). A whopping 61% said £5-10 was a fair price to pay. 30% said that £10-15 was a reasonable price to pay, but only 1% thought £15-20 was fair.

There are FA guidelines that stipulate a minimum of £10 has to be charged for 1st round games, but so far the club has failed to give any reasoning as to why they decided on the figure they did. It might be wise of the club to issue a statement on this to clarify things as supporters are feeling they are being overcharged. Both clubs have to agree on a price, so it may be down to Lincoln. But so long as the club remains silent on the matter, then fans will stay away from the game and show the club how they feel by their absence.

It will be interesting to see how many go. We have the same problem at Millmoor - playing non league Forest Green. Charging normal prices, but we have been told, on the grapevine mind you, that both teams agree the price though we are charging only £5 for U16's.

If Forest say nothing when many fans feel so aggrieved, then it shows contempt on the part of the club. It wouldn't be the worst PR exercise in the world to come out and explain. Fans feel as though they are being ripped off and it looks lke the club is doing nothing to make them change their minds.

You have my sympathy here as we have the same problems with our club. The PR is awful.
