Calderwood Happy With Top Spot

Nottingham Forest took over from Swansea as League 1 leaders for the first time this season, with their 2-0 victory against Port Vale at the City Ground.

Forest boss Colin Calderwood told the BBC. 'Let's not kid ourselves, we wouldn't want to be in any other place because we haven't been there so far this season. We ended up with a regulation home win, that's how I would describe it. In the first half we created one or two excellent opportunities, but in the second half we got the job done.'

It wasn't the most emphatic display seen this season, but it will give supporters and players the belief that this season may just be the one where the turnaround in fortunes begins. The side has improved immensely on the failings of last season, but clearly still have a way to go before the job is finished. Calderwood is delighted and the fans are too. If they can find the consistency needed to stay at the top, then maybe, just maybe we'll get out of this division.
