'If It's Football, It's Vital'

That's More Like It Colin

Both Colin Calderwood and the players have come in for some harsh words this week from supporters after the defeat to Gillingham at the Priestfield Stadium on Saturday.

The Vital Forest message boards have been filled with criticism of Calderwood in respect of his post match comments. CC thought we should have won the game because of the number of chances created and that the scoreline was not a true reflection of the game.

Whilst what the gaffer says may well be true, his words were seen by some to be excuses rather than explanations. Fans are fearing the wheels are about to come off like they did this time last year.

But a more reflective Calderwood told the official site. 'In the end it was a resounding thumping and we've got to have a response to that.' He added that he felt the hurt as much as the fans and wants to prove this was a just a slip up.

He was definitely more positive when saying. 'The response won't be we've done OK, should have scored but we didn't. The response will be, we've had a bit of a setback so we need to be on the front foot and try and put things right in terms of getting three points.' That's the kind of talk I want to hear from the boss and fair play to him. Now it's just the small matter of winning the game.
