Forest To Appeal Wilson's Red Card

Forest To Appeal Wilson's Red Card

Wilson received his marching orders nine minutes from the break in the 2-1 win against Huddersfield and 18,000 people inside the City Ground let referee Anthony Taylor know that he had made a serious mistake. The resulting penalty not only put the Reds 1-0 down, but also meant we had to play the rest of the game with ten men.

After looking at video evidence from the game, news on the official site says they will appeal to the Football Association against the decision.

Manager Colin Calderwood was of the same opinion as the fans and didn't think contact had been made between Wilson and Kamara. He told Radio Nottingham in his post match interview that they would only appeal if they thought they had a good case.

CC said. 'I didn't think Kelvin should have been sent off. I don't think it was a foul. He has headed the ball back to Paul and he has it in his hands.'

Calderwood believes the ref has to explain his decisions. It wasn't the only controversial decision in the game. Taylor denied Forest what seemed a cast iron penalty when Kris Commons was felled in the box after 6 mins. Let's just say Mr. Taylor didn't have a very good day at the office.
