January Transfer Rumours

January Transfer Rumours

Despite the gaffer saying he hoped to have a couple of shiny new signings before the Orient game, things have gone unusually quiet regarding any transfer news.

The usual suspects have reared their heads again in the shape of Neil Danns and Leon Best and despite the attempts of the local press to band their names around on a daily basis, we don't look like signing either.

If rumours doing the rounds are true, then we had a 500k bid for Best turned down. It would seem the Sky Blues are not so desperate for our cash any more in light of their successful takeover just before Christmas. I'm not sure he's worth as much as that, let alone more.

As for Neil Danns, the player clearly doesn't want to return to League 1 and who could blame him? It looks as though the Brum player is keeping his options open and hoping for a Championship club at least.

So, if you hear of any potential newbies between now and the end of the window, be sure to let us know. As soon as we get a whisper, or the first sign of white smoke from the City Ground, you'll hear about it here.
