Forest Bid £1M For Best

It was reported on January 3 that a bid of £500,000 was turned down by the Sky Blues for Best. Then a £600,000 bid was thrown out on January 9. Now, on the 11th of January, Forest have all but thrown in the kitchen sink as well and offered a million for the player!

Best has been a Reds target since the summer and it would appear we mean to get him. City paid Southampton £650,000 for the Nottingham born lad last year and it was this, that was partly to blame for their financial woes.

Whilst Best did well last season on loan at Bournemouth and Yeovil, he's not exactly been pulling up the trees at Coventry. In 20 appearances this season, he's scored 4 goals and picked up 5 yellow cards. Does that sound like a million pound player to you?

The BBC is saying the fee could be around a million, but anything above the 650K City paid seems a bit steep to me. Do you think Best is worth that kind of money, or are we being held to ransom? Join the debate on the forum and have your say.

Personally, I think it's a smoke screen, to let us know that they are working to get players in - but £1m, can't see that being the case - unless Marlon King goes to Fulham for £8m then this will fund the purchase in entirity. Most likely an initial fee c £750k then appearance based & sell on clause etc!

That would make the blow a bit softer wouldn't it? It's about time you started posting on the main forum Sir. You'd be more than welcome you know and it's lovely and warm in there too.
