Best Makes Transfer Request

The Leon Best saga stepped up a gear today and went into overdrive, as the Forest target handed in a transfer request to the Sky Blues.

City boss Iain Dowie left the player out of the squad for today's' game against Burnley, claiming 'he wasn't mentally prepared.' Dowie told the City official site. 'There has been a lot of speculation about Leon moving to Nottingham Forest and he came in yesterday and handed in a transfer request.'

Dowie went on to say that he still wanted Best to stay at the club. He fumed at Forest today saying that we had gone about getting the striker in the wrong way. City have turned down two bids for the player and have been adamant that he will not leave the club. This transfer request will make it difficult for them to hang on to him now and may pave the way for the Reds to move in for their man.
