No excuses from Calderwood
There were no positives to take from another abject away performance, after the Reds suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Swindon Town. Colin Calderwood does at least admit that his side were beaten by a better team on the day and offered no excuses for the display.
Speaking to the official site, he said. 'We were second best in the first half and it was difficult to deal with the elements. But it was not the conditions, which did make it hard to play, as a group we didn't perform and we were short in 1 or 2 areas. They got better possession and gained the ascendancy. They were bright up front and their set plays were excellent.'
This was the Reds 4th away defeat of the season and the form away from home is becoming a concern. Out of the 12 games on our travels, we've only won 4 and drawn the other 4. If Forest are to maintain their push for promotion, they will have to rectify this. The table sees us in 3rd place, just a point behind 2nd placed Carlisle, so it's not the end of the world. But a continuation of this form on our travels will see us fall away from the leaders. Forest have the chance to put things right with a visit to the New Den on Wednesday night, when they visit a struggling Millwall.
