'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Here We Go Again - Groundhog Day

The January transfer window closed at midnight last night, with Forest failing to do any business regarding bringing in new signings. The clubs' failings has got fans fuming and many are calling for changes at the top, with Chairman Nigel Doughty and Chief Executive Mark Arthur top of the hitlist.

In trying to silence the growing mass of unrest and restore faith in their critics, Mark Arthur told the Nottingham Evening Post. 'We will discuss our options on Monday. We will look at other potential targets after discussing with the manager who they might be. The transfer window might have closed, but we can still sign players on loan in a week's time. We made what we felt were two very good offers for two players. But we knew that if Celtic showed an interest in Robson we would be fighting a battle and we made what we felt was a good offer for Leon Best.'

That's just too little too late for most fans and just the same rhetoric as this time last year. Once again we are left to rely on loan signings and once again we are left disappointed. It's becoming all too predictable for some and has even got fans talking about forming protest groups and even boycotting games.

Please let's not start knocking Nigel Doughty again...he put up 1M and 1.25M for the managers two main targets...what more do we expect from him. How many other Chairmen in League 1 would do this?
