Hoskins Set To Join Forest

Forest lost out to the Hornets in capturing the signature of the 21 year old Nottingham lad only 12 months ago. But after failing to set the world alight down South, he now looks set to join the Reds.

In an effort to quash the growing unrest between the fans and the hierarchy of the club and protests planned ahead of the Millwall game, Forest have taken the unusual step of announcing the deal before it's been completed. According to the official site, Hoskins is expected to sign on Friday. The club says he will sign on loan until the end of the season.

Hoskins only made 12 appearances for Watford and failed to score. He spent 3 months on loan to fellow League 1 side Millwall, who are incidentally our opponents on Saturday. Wouldn't it be lovely for him to do a 'Harris' and bag one against his former club?

Millwall was another place where the fans never saw him at his best, although he did score 4 in 11 appearances for the Lions. According to Vital Millwall he had a 'lazy attitude that left some fans questioning the young striker's commitment to the club.' He has scored goals though and is proven at this level. Whilst at Rotherham, where he made his name he managed 25 goals in 81 appearances for the Millers.

Is this just a move by the club to silence the growing unrest? Or is Hoskins the answer to our striker problems? Join the debate on the forum and have your say.

Good signing, adds depth to the strikers' ranks PLUS he's actually a different kind of striker to those we have already!

Keep his feet on the ground and he'll be fine

A friend of mine is a season ticket holder at Watford, and told me this might happen last week, as it was in the local rag - he really rates the guy, says he lays a lot on for others by getting in the right positions.

We're putting alot of faith in this young lad. I just hope he does for us, what he did for Rotherham. Good luck to him.

He wasn't quite the finished article when he left us - needed a few corners rubbing off and, tbh, he left under a bit of a cloud, which, imo was a little unfair to the lad. But, back in his home town he will want to shine. Good luck to him
