Made me p!ss last night watching Midlands Today on ITV when they was talking about Coventry doing a deal and taking McGold-dick in January on a permanent deal - I also read the same thing from The Coventry Telegraph - http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/coventry-city-fc/coventry-city-fc-... - where they was hoping to sign him up on a two & a half year contract - I then turn the telly over onto BBC Midlands News only to hear that Coventry can not afford the rent on the new stadium and could be thrust into administration.

| It's nothing to do with not being able to afford the rent as far as I can tell (though it seems they are skint), they're just withholding rent because they are being charged an extortionate rate and want to renegotiate the terms.
You could of course argue it was the clubs own fault that the previous regime agreed to those terms in the first place, but it's really no different to when Doughty was refusing to pay the loan on the Trent End to try and restructure our debt.
It's a game of chicken, when they say Coventry have to pay all back dated rent or face liquidation the truth is they face no such thing, they'll either pay the rent or the stadium owners will renegotiate, it depends who blinks first, but it's in nobody's interest for the club to be liquidated.
Bored of hearing these stories to be honest, it's just a tactic football clubs use to try and get away without paying their debts because they assume those to whom the debt is owed will be afraid of the backlash from thousands of fans and bottle it, close the fookers down then, see if I care!

Judging by the gates Cov have been getting they could probably groundshare with Hinckley Utd ! |

Just don't go to Derby.
I would love to offload him to Derby being fair. Problem is you could guarantee he would come back to haunt us... |

| He will score against us wherever he goes!!! I've said time and time again..."he is" a very talented player!!! And a good championship player at that!!!
When some write he's found his level in lge 1 I disagree, he's much better than that, it's just not worked out with us for some reason!?!? If ya believe some on here it's his attitude...no reason to doubt what's been posted by those members, but I think it's a massive shame if that's the case!!! |

| I was reading a Coventry City forum and they basically said this. Besides, why would he want to stay with them when Championship clubs are apparently sniffing around him?
There will be better options available and I very much doubt he'll sign with Coventry permanently. |

All depends on what he wants. He want go get as much money as he wants , then certainly coventry will not be his destination but if he found a place where he finally belonged and it's less about the money. He's only 24 (? ) , if he continue to score goals at coventry , a big money move will still be in his future even if he stays at coventry.
He got his best scoring form of his career for Coventry , the fans worship him and the manager adored him as their star player. He might not get that from other clubs.
The big question is , can he repeat that kind of form for other clubs ? Last season , when he was on loan at sheffield wednesday , he was hardly great. Edited by marshal99 9/12/2012 09:25

| Good point Marshall. It'd also depend upon their owners writing a big enough cheque for our owners to consider their bid. The Coventry fans have doubts about this, but signing him will increase what little popularity the owners seem to have at the moment with the Coventry fans.
To be fair, I'd like to see him stay on at Coventry permanently. He's finally found a place where he's going to get credit, it isn't too far from home and it could reignite his career. It would be a sensible move, but initially maybe not the most lucrative. |
