Thought that Tyler Walker's loan to Bolton might mean he wouldn't get many games. This may still be the case, but in tonights game he is starting and Clough is only on the bench. Unless we are dragged into the relegation battle it would obviously be best for us to see them both do well.

jury out for me on clough but it would be nice for a clough to do well with us.

Would love Tyler to develop his potential and become a legend for us like his dad.

loan made sense and I hope both players do well, apart from against us obviously

Yeah that's what I thought.Let's hope are own players out on loan don't give us an uncomfortable end of the season.

Clough should’ve scored one.

Henderson has suffered an injury playing for Portsmouth as well.

Saw the headline earlier "Forest loan keeper badly injured" and thought that Pantilimon had done a Federici. Shame for Henderson, but he really isn't good enough for us. Lets hope Pants settles in.

It's always hard to form a proper opinion on players when you don't see the games . In my case I have to rely on every piece of info that I can get my hands on and it's not just Vital either, although Vital comes first. But even then there's so much variation in opinions on here that at times it's nearly impossible to be sure.
But this thread reminded me of some of the other youngsters on our books as well. For quite a while now I've wondered whether some of you might have an over the top opinion of just how good (or bad) these lads are. Loans are one of the pointers that I tend to look at and it's starting to surprise me that some of these loans result in the lad coming back early (perhaps a minority). I'm beginning to wonder whether the success of the lads on loan at Notts for example is the norm or not.
There's a few of you, like Nan for example, who actually see the Academy boys in action but I doubt whether any of you see the lads from other clubs in sufficient numbers to be able to make a decent comparison. And LBL seems to be the only poster with good info on the coming and going of these lads.
I know that the club at times produces a decent player but it's also obvious that it's an expensive business to maintain the Academy.

It's quite obvious that my knowledge is far from complete and I will have no complaints when I'm being shot down.

Just to clarify, as I have said before, I don't get to Academy games (under 18s, 16s) as they are often on the same Saturday, in the morning, as 1st team home games, and for family reasons I can't be out all day! Garibaldi Red used to be on this forum and was the fount of all knowledge about the youngsters.

However I do try and get to under 23 n matches though the move to Alfreton for home games has limited this. Travelling up the M1 on a Friday evening is not my favourite way of wasting over an hour.

But - Forest under 23s are playing at Alfreton this afternoon - kick off 1 pm - and I am intending to get to this game. Will report later.

I bet no one on here thinks or wonders how Thomas Lam's getting on at FC Twente

By-the-way - he is a Centre Back

watched the game Friday. tyler didn't see any ball for 20 mins but started getting into the game after that basically chasing lost causes and long balls that they would have been hoofing upto madine. he even managed to outmuscle flint for a ball. he tried hard but no chances created for him.

I think the fans appreciated his workrate. clough got a standing ovation when going for his first warmup.

Fwiw the acid test is a league match. As the saying goes- if they are good enough, they r old enough!

When u have such a variation of opinions it is often somewhere in the middle.

Time will tell with these two players but as with Smith, Joe and the bens, young players need game time to develop beyond a certain point.

What is your take on him LBL - what's he shaping up like
and do you think he will be back?

In what position is he playing for FC Trenty and is he playing regularly?

Sorry for all the questions (I am not a policeman) but I am
interested in what is happening to the lad - he seems to be a
forgotten man a@@@@st the tricki supporters.

Lam `s future at Forest was done in the summer, his contract will terminate in June, so technically he is not a Forest player any longer (we are just paying the balance of his wages). In regard Clough, I doubt that we will see him in a Forest shirt again, with Geddy and Watson signing permanently , Ozzy and Bridcutt already here (and if Coldback settles here and Newcastle remain in the prem. there is a big chance that his stay will be extended), chances to play will be limited for Clough.
For Walker, if Karanka gets his way and allowed to improve squad further in the summer, the best he can look for is another loan ...maybe with County ...if they get promoted.
