Nottingham Forest vs. Bristol Rovers

City Ground

April 8, 2008

7.45pm

Forest v Pirates: Preview

Forest entertain Bristol Rovers at the City Ground on Tuesday night, for the first time since 1991. The Pirates gained promotion last year to League 1 and after a decent start have faltered of late. They currently sit in 17th place, just 4 points above the drop zone, but do have 3 games in hand of their rivals.

Paul Trollope will be hoping his side can end a barren run of 3 games without a goal. They haven't scored since their 2-2 draw with Swansea. Highlight of the season for the Pirates will be reaching the quarter finals of the FA Cup, where they were beaten 5-1 by West Brom.

Forest on the other hand will be looking to make it 3 out of 3 with a another win, in a bid to continue our quest for promotion. Also playing on Tuesday night are Swansea and Carlisle, in a game that could once and for all decide our automatic promotion fate.

Vital Quotes:

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Selection problems for CC will be whether he plays fit again Tyson instead of the impressive McCleary and does he risk Bennett, who left the pitch with a strained hamstring. Davies is still out, but James Perch is available after finishing his suspension as well as recovering from injury.

Player to watch: Garath McCleary

The home fans got their first proper look at the former Bromley hit man on Saturday and he even won the Vital Forest Man of the Match. He followed up his match winning performance at Carlisle with another fine display against Cheltenham.

Bristol Rovers Team News:

Loan signings Wayne Andrews (knee) and Jeff Hughes (ankle) will definitely miss the game.

Player to watch: Rickie Lambert

The former Rochdale, Stockport and Blackpool striker is having a great season so far and has bagged 16 goals in all competitions.

Match Facts & Stats

The two sides have met a total of 19 times. The Reds have won 9, drawn 4 and lost 6. Earlier this season we pulled back a 2 goal deficit, to earn a 2-2 draw at the Memorial Stadium.

Match Prediction:

2-0 to the good guys. For the first time this season we win 3 in a row.
