Tranmere Rovers vs. Nottingham Forest

Prenton Park

Show Us You Mean Business

The game at Prenton Park tomorrow between Tranny and Forest is a battle of the playoff hopefuls and will be seen by both sides as a must win game.

Forest sit 5th place in the table and will be looking to improve on a disappointing midweek showing against Bristol Rovers. Tranmere will be looking to get back in the playoff placings, following 3 defeats on the bounce. They sit in 7th place, 2 points behind Lucky Leeds.

With only 4 games left of the season, Forest need to find a good run of form heading into the playoffs. We aren't there yet of course, but a win at Prenton Park and defeat for Walsall, will at least ensure we get there.

Famous people from The Wirral:

They can boast a fair few celeb types and not all of them scallies. Former Prime Minister Harold Wilson hails from there, as does ace singer/songwriter Elvis Costello. The former Radio 1 DJ John Peel was born there, but the biggest claim to fame for the wannabe Scousers is that 007 star Daniel Craig grew up there.

Vital Quotes:

Tranmere Rovers Team News:

Tranmere will be without defender Ben Chorley through suspension, but the good news for the home side is that winger Steve Davies, could make his long-awaited return following a serious knee injury.

Player to watch: Ian Moore.

We paid Tranny £1M for Moore back in 1997, but his career never really took off here. In 26 appearances, he's scored 8 goals since his return to Prenton Park in January. He's also the son of manager Ronnie Moore and you just know he'd love to get one over us.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

The Reds will definitely be without striker Junior Agogo with a calf strain. Bennett and Tyson should make the game and the surprise news that Will Hoskins has declared himself fit will be welcomed.

Player to watch: Brett Ormerod

Works hard and hasn't had a bad game since his arrival on loan from Preston. Not scored as many as he'd like, but he will make a good strike partner for Tyson with his tireless running.

Match Facts & Stats

We haven't lost at Prenton Park since 1999, when we were beaten 2-0. This season at the City Ground, we ran out 2-0 winners. In 15 games between the two sides Forest have won 6, drawn 8 and lost 1.

Match Prediction:

1-0 to Forest. You have to keep the faith.
