Nottingham Forest vs. Norwich City

City Ground

It's A Real Six Pointer

Nottingham Forest welcome the Canaries of Norwich to the City Ground today and hope to continue the recent revival that now sees us unbeaten in four games.

A win will confirm that we have good reason to be optimistic and can feel confident of climbing out of the relegation zone. Defeat on the other hand will send us all rushing for the keyboards again and calling for Calderwood's head on a stick.

This one is being billed as a must win game for both sides, with the Reds' sitting second from bottom and City in 19th perillously close to the drop zone themselves. Sky TV will be beaming the match live to living rooms and bars across the land, so hopefully the lads put in a decent display and show the watching millions that Forest are back and once again playing the game in the right way, with the free flowing, tippy tappy stuff that we all know and love.

The game sees two players reunited with their former clubs. Sammy Clingan returns to the City Ground for the first time since his summer defection and Robert Earnshaw should be back for the Reds', to line up against the side he scored 27 goals for in 45 appearances.

Vital Quotes:

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Bennett and the Moose are still missing from the side through injury, but CC should be able to recall Lynch and Earnshaw to the squad.

Player to watch: Robert Earnshaw

I hope CC plays him from the start, but I have a feeling he'll put him on the bench. He's our top scorer with 5 goals and will be eager to get one against his former club.

Norwich City Team News:

Dejan Stafanovic is out with knee problems and captain Darren Russell misses the game through suspension. Manager Glenn Roeder should be able to recall the former Newcastle man Antoine Sibierski, after a knee injury.

Player to watch: Leroy Lita

Lita is on loan from Reading and although he's yet to score in 8 appearances, he'll have to be watched. Rumoured to have been a target for the Reds' in the summer, he's been spotted in and around Nottingham more times than Robin Hood.

Match Facts & Stats

In 58 league meetings, Forest have won 23, drawn 15 and lost 20. Last time out, the game ended in a 1-0 victory to the Canaries at Carrow Road, in 2003.

Match Prediction:

I'm hoping the mood of optimism continues and will be going for a 3-1 win.

Next Fixtures:

Donny away on Tuesday night.
