Forest v Blunts: Preview

Forest welcome the Blunts of Sheffield to the City Ground on Tuesday night, for the latest in a series of must win games for the Reds'.

Whilst under fire Forest boss Colin Calderwood is still staring down the barrel of a gun as regards his City Ground future, his counterpart Kevin Blackwell has just signed a one year contract extension, securing his Brammall Lane future until 2012.

The form guide makes this game a tough one to call. The Blunts have only 1 win of their last 5 games, whilst the Reds' have 1 defeat in 8. United come into this game on the back of a 3-2 defeat at home to Burnley at the weekend and will be looking to get back to winning ways to keep their place in the playoff places. They currently sit comfortably in 6th on 32 points, whilst we are still in the drop zone one place off the bottom on 17.

The last time the two sides met was back in the 2004/5 season, when both games ended in 1-1 draws.

Vital Quotes:

Nottingham Forest Team News:

CC will be able to recall Nathan Tyson, who has served his one match ban. Julian Bennett may also gain a recall after recovering from a shoulder injury.

Player to watch: Robert Earnshaw

Little Earn bagged his 6th goal of the campaign against Coventry on Saturday and is slowly getting back to full match fitness after his layoff. We need him fit and firing, if we have any hopes of climbing the table.

Sheffield United Team News:

Check later for updates.

Player to watch: James Beattie

10 goals in 19 starts this season shows that the former Everton striker knows where the net is. Our shaky defence will have to be on it's toes to keep him at bay.

Match Facts & Stats

The two sides have met 94 times in the League, with Forest holding the bragging rights, with 39 wins, 32 defeats and 23 draws.

Match Prediction:

1-2. United have one of the best forward lines in the division and I can't see Morgan and Co. coping too well.

Next Fixtures:

Blackpool (h). 13/12/08. KO 3pm.
