'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Nottingham Forest vs. Plymouth Argyle

City Ground

17/1/09

3pm

Welcome King Billy

Billy Davies' first game in front of the home fans, will see him try and turn around a dismal run of form, that has seen the Reds' win only 2 games at the City Ground this season. Paul Sturrock's Plymouth will be the opposition, who saw the corresponding fixture at Home Park earlier this campaign bring around an upturn in their own sorry home form.

The game at Home Park back in September saw the Pilgrims pick up their first home win of the season, as they ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a first half goal from Rory Fallon. Wes Morgan gifted them the goal on 41 minutes and was sent off in the 90th for his second bookable offence. Hopefully they can make amends on Saturday.

Forest haven't lost since the Boxing Day debacle at home to Donny and have been in impressive form since.

If the fans can get behind Billy and the boys from the off against Plymouth, it will help to take away some of the pressure the lads clearly feel when playing at home. It's the start of a new era for the players, it should also be a new one for the fans. Billy Davies is the new man in charge and we have to get behind him. He needs our support and the players do too. It's along time since we had any reasons for cheering at the City Ground and it's time to get the place rocking again. Success will see us climb up the table and then who knows where after that. As Yazz once famously said. 'The Only Way Is Up.'

Forest to win 3 - 0, how's that for optimism? I think it is well founded though - Come On You Reds!
