Ipswich v Forest Match Preview

Forest head down to Suffolk on Tuesday evening to face an Ipswich team that are yet to win a league game this season in a fixture that will see us line up against a former Forest player in the hot seat for the third consecutive game (Clough, Laws & Keane).

Vital Quotes:

6 on the road without defeat & 8 on the road without a win, we must be due a change in luck soon.

Ipswich Town Team News:

Lee Martin had started every game for Ipswich until the Middlesbrough game last weekend when he was dropped to the bench which if nothing else shows that Keane learnt faster than our previous manager than Martin is a show pony. Jon Walters is their top scorer so far with 3 of their 4 league goals and has had 21 attempts at goal this season which is the 2nd highest in the league for an individual player.

Player to watch: Jon Walters

It seems from early season form that if Walters doesn't score, Ipswich don't so he's the man to keep quiet.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Are now 4 games unbeaten in all competitions with 2 wins and 2 draws which is the form they ended last season with & must now be heading for a record for scoring own goals with 4 already this season in just 6 games. Dexter Blackstock (Forest's top scorer) was taken off late in the weekend game against Wednesday with a knee injury but little is known about the extent of the injury or whether it was part of Billy Davies tactics in the dark arts. Radoslaw Majewski has an injury picked up in training but the weekend fixture did see the return of Wilson, McGugan & Moussi to the reds bench.

Player to watch: Paul Anderson

After much criticism from Forest fans (much of this from myself) he put in his best performance in a Forest shirt at the weekend & will know he needs to continue with that kind of form to keep Tyson out of the team. Over to you Paul.

Match Facts & Stats

In 54 league games between these two ex-premiership teams Forest have the better record with 25 wins compared to 17 for Ipswich (12 draws). Forest have also out scored their opponents by 75 goals to 62. Ipswich came out on top last season taking 4 points from the 2 games winning 2 - 1 at Portman Road and taking a point from a 1 - 1 draw at The City Ground.

Ref Watch:

28 year old Gavin Ward of Surrey will take charge of this game & be assisted by Warren Atkin of Sussex & John Hopkins of Essex. 4th official for this game according to the F.A referee appointments site is Adrian Sannerude of Suffolk

Match Prediction:

Prediction As Forest can't win away & Ipswich can't win at all so this one has to be a game is heading for a draw before a balls been kicked.

Forest can't keep a clean sheet to save their lives at the mo, but we are making some great chances, and missing them. Should this continue, then a very entertaining draw, is probobly in prospect!

In fairness, Ipswich are creating even more chances & scoring even less, agree though that a draw is most likely
