Posh v Forest: Match Preview

Nottingham Forest will be well backed by a Red army of almost 4,000 fans, when they take on Peterborough at London Road on Saturday and they will be hoping to see the Reds', continue their fine run of form on the road. The Reds' haven't lost an away game since the 5-0 drubbing at Burnley, way back in March and will be gunning for their first treble under the stewardship of manager Billy Davies.

'Boro started their Championship campaign quite well, after gaining promotion last season, but have faltered in recent weeks. They lost in midweek 2-1 at home to Plymouth and as a result, slipped into the drop zone. They currently lie 3rd from bottom on 7 points.

Billy Davies will have the lads in confident mood, following back to back wins over Plymouth and Scunthorpe in the past week. The Reds' lie in the relatively comfortable position of 14th at the moment and rather incredibly, just 3 points off the Playoffs. Still, it's early days and just to keep our feet on the ground, we're only 7 points away from the trapdoor.

Vital Quotes:

Billy Davies has been saying that 'Billy Davies has been saying for a few months now that momentum has been growing within this squad of players and our play has deserved an awful lot more than we've actually got so far.' Billy clearly thinks that Billy deserves another win.

Peterborough United Team News:

Posh boss Darren Ferguson has doubts over Jamie Day, who was stretchered off with a badly gashed ankle, in the 2-1 home defeat to Plymouth.

Player to watch: Aaron McLean

It was McLean's goals that helped Posh to promotion last season and the former non league player from Grays has carried that on this season, having netted 4 goals so far.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Apart from the usual suspects of Perch and Bennett, Forest have a clean bill of health.

Player to watch: Radoslaw Majewski

Young Raddy is fast becoming a fans favourite. He has a keen eye for a defence splitting pass, can take free kicks and as we all know and love, has the ability to pop up with the odd wonderful goal.

Match Facts & Stats

We've only played each other in the League twice before and Forest have won them both. The last time we met, was in 2007 for a Football League Trophy game at the City Ground. Posh ran out 3-2 winners that night.

Match Prediction:

2-2. Posh wont be a pushover and will be looking to get their season back on track. They have a powerful frontline and our still fragile defence will do well to keep them at bay.
