Forest v Rovers, The bogey team come to town

Forest entertain Doncaster Rovers at the City Ground this weekend in a fixture that has often had a great impact on our season. Last season it got Colin Calderwood the sack & the season before an away defeat kick started our run to promotion.

Never a dull moment when these two teams meet

Vital Quotes:

It's about time we bloody well beat them

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Nicky Shorey has signed in time to make his debut, Blackstock and Earnshaw should both be fit to start which leaves us only missing one 1st choice player in Nathan Tyson who should be back for the Leicester game

Player to watch: Blackstock

Forest have failed to win since his injury in the Barnsley game & although they haven't lost either we've clearly been missing his goal threat.

Doncaster Rovers Team News:

Martin Woods returns after serving a one match suspension & Adam Lockwood (foot) may also return after training this week.

Brian Stock (ankle) is out with a long term injury as is Steve Brooker (also ankle)

Player to watch: Billy Sharp

If it wasn't enough having Rovers as our bogey team they'll be bringing an old foe with them in the form of Sharp who has scored 5 goals in 10 starts for them.

Match Facts & Stats

There haven't been many league meetings between these two teams over the years & even though Forest have by far the better record (13 wins & 7 draws from 26 games) it's the recent history that gives us the problem. We're without a win in 6 attempts against the South Yorkshire outfit with them taking 4 wins along with 2 goaless draws.

Ref Watch:

Scott Mathieson of Cheshire takes charge of this game. He last took charge of a Forest game in the 2 - 1 home win over Sheffield Wednesday in January. A game that saw Francis Jeffers sent off for a disgraceful lunge at Joe Heath. He will be assisted by Paul Martin (Northamptonshire)and Mark Weaver (W. Midlands) The 4th official Simon Bennett of Staffordshire

Match Prediction:

They may be our bogey team, but they haven't met a Billy Davies Forest team before. You know our unbeaten run will come to an end sooner or later, but i don't think this will be the game. Doncaster may have helped start our run to promotion & they may have helped us get Calderwood replaced by Billy so i suppose we have a lot to thank them for, which we can do, just after taking 3 points from them in a 3 - 1 home win.

At least if Stock is 'really' injured he can't score against us!
Our Kids Dad
Billy Sharp can though!
