Burnley Team News:

There have been a few comings & goings at Burnley over the summer with Ross Wallace, Lee Grant & Chris Iwelumo being the most notable. Brian Laws has been insisting that Chris McCann will be fit for the start of the season but he hasn't been seen in Burnley's pre-season fixtures.

New Signings: Chris Iwelumo (Wolves), Dean Marney (Hull), Lee Grant (Sheff W) & Ross Wallace (Preston)

Player to watch: Ross Wallace

With 7 goals & 7 assists last season for a poor Preston team you can probably expect the winger to get many more assists this season with Iwelumo to aim for.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

There are injuries all over the squad at the start of this season. Julian Bennett seems to finally be over his injury worries but is still not fully fit, Kelvin Wilson has had a shin problem but did play in the final friendly game, Wes Morgan hasn't been seen since the game in Portugal. Paul Anderson & Paul McKenna both seem to have fallen off the face of the Earth & David McGoldrick has a dislocated shoulder.

Player to watch: Radoslaw Majewski

The midfield magiciam will be looking to pull the strings.

Match Facts & Stats

Burnley had much the better of this fixture the last time the two teams met with a 1 - 2 win at the City Ground thanks to two Graham Alexander goals & they dished out a 5 - 0 hammering in the game at Turf Moor on their way to the Premiership via the play offs.

Ref Watch:

Saturdays referee will be Colin Webster of Tyne & Wear. He last took charge of a Forest game when he forgot to award Darren Pratley (do you remember that name) a penalty against Swansea at the City Ground last season, a game Forest went on to win with a last minute Luke Chambers goal. Mr Webster took control of 29 games last season, issuing 64 bookings & a further 4 sendings off. He will be assisted on the sidelines by Peter Davies of Cheshire & Paul Graham of Manchester. 4th Official for the day will be Paul Hodskinson of Lancashire

Match Prediction:

It's Forest, first game of the season is always 0 - 0

Its Graham Alexander, not Keith Alexander. Keith Alexander was the Macclesfield manager who passed away in March. Also, i have predicted 0-0 as well.

Football can't be back yet. It's too SOON! I haven't got over that dreadful WC yet, we've no-one in and the injury list is longer than the available list. ARRRRGGGGGH! WAKE ME UP! IT'S A NIGHTMARE!
