Tykes v Forest Preview

Forest travel to Oakwell this afternoon hoping to make it 10 games unbeaten in the Championship so far this campaign. It will be a welcome return to domestic football action, after a fortnights break due to internationals. Thankfully for Forest, Chris Gunter and Ryan Bertrand returned unscathed from their duties with Wales and England respectively, but there's still no good news for striker Robert Earnshaw as he's failed to recover in time from his thigh injury. Manager Billy Davies will also be missing from the travelling party, as he endeavours to recover from a virus that has laid him up for the past week.

With Ned Kelly taking charge, he will be aiming to maintain the recent good form that has seen Forest put together an impressive run of results that sees them sitting comfortably in 11th place in the table on 13 points. That's just a point above the Tykes, who sit in 15th.

Barnsley have been struggling of late, having picked up just 2 points out of the last 12. If Forest manage to pick up a win today, it will be their 2nd win at Oakwell in 58 years.

Vital Quotes:

Barnsley Team News:

Jeronimo Neumann (groin strain) is th only doubt for Barnsley.

Player to watch: Andy Gray

The former Forest player is still strutting his stuff at the tender age of 33 and has netted twice this season in the 3-3 draw they had at Bristol City earlier this year.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Earnie will once again be missing from the action, after missing the last 3 games with a thigh injury.

Player to watch: Lewis McGugan

Hopefully he can continue the form that has seen him top the scoring charts at the club with 4 goals this season. He's in the form of his life at the moment and has justifiably regained his place in the side.

Match Facts & Stats

In 66 meetings between the teams, Forest have won 25, lost 24 and drawn 17.

Match Prediction:

The form book says this one has a score draw written all over it, so it's 2-1 to the Tykes for me.
