This will be Colin Calderwood's first return to Sixfields since being put in charge at Forest. The Reds remain unbeaten in their first two games, whilst the Cobblers had an opening day draw against Crewe, followed by a midweek defeat at home to Brentford.
Northampton look set to name an unchanged squad after striker Andy Kirk came through Tuesday's defeat by Brentford unscathed, despite a thigh problem.
Northampton from:
Harper, Crowe, Chambers, Doig, Holt, Bojic, Burnell, Aiston, Taylor, Kirk, McGleish, Bunn, Jess, Dyche, Johnson, Gilligan.
The striker scored in the the Cobblers first game of the season against Crewe and is always a handful.
Forest will once again be without the long term injured striker Tyson and are also likely to be without mid fielder Kris Commons.
Forest from: Smith, Morgan, Cullip, Breckin, Southall, Bennett, Gary Holt, Perch, Clingan, Grant Holt, Lester, Pedersen, Thompson, Harris, Weir-Daley, Curtis.
Got his seasons account open on Tues night at Blackpool. The striker has impressed in the close season and in the opening two games of this campaign.
