Nottingham Forest vs. Swansea City

City Ground

30 September 2006

3.00pm

Next Up Swansea

Possibly the most eagerly awaited fixture of the season, if only for the fact that Swansea will bring a good following from the Valleys and generate some atmosphere. The Reds' go into the game still top of League 1 despite not winning in their previous four outings.

Swansea have been unpredictable this season, winning five, losing four and drawing two. Last season saw them take all three points at the City Ground and it ended 1-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

Vital Quotes:

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Forest should be able to call upon James Perch who picked up a gash to the shin in mid week. Gary Holt is once again expected to play through the pain barrier, whilst it is rumoured that Danny Cullip could be in the squad.

Forest from: Smith, Curtis, Breckin, Morgan, Clingan, Commons, Bennett, Gary Holt, Perch, Southall, Agogo, Harris, Grant Holt Lester, Thompson, Pedersen, Cullip.

Player to watch: Kris Commons

KC has looked good in his two games back from injury. He could have a big impact on the game, if he can fulfil his potential.

Swansea City Team News:

The Swans hit man Lee Trundle is a major doubt for the game, with a hamstring strain. Andy Oakes is expected to retain the Swansea goalkeeping jersey. Frenchman Willy Gueret was axed for the first time in his Swans career during Tuesday's 2-1 victory against Crewe and Oakes proved an able deputy. Kristian O'Leary, Kevin Austin (both hamstring) and Garry Monk (knee) are all missing while striker Adebayo Akinfenwa (shin) is doubtful.

Swansea from: Oakes, Tate, Iriekpen, Lawrence, Williams, Britton, Pratley, Robinson, Way, Fallon, Knight, Gueret, Amankwaah, Tudur-Jones, Jones, MacDonald, Trundle.

Player to watch: Leon Knight

If Trundle fails in his bid for fitness, the Swans have an able replacement in Leon Knight. The former Brighton man has hit the net seven times in eight starts already this season.
