Nottingham Forest

Hillsborough

5-30pm

On Sky

Mark Warburton's Forest make the short trip up the M1 to take on Carlos Carvalhal's Sheffield Wednesday.

Vital Quotes:

Forest Manager, Mark Warburton, gave his views at Thursday's press conference:

'The Championship is relentless and if you look at the fixtures, it could be a Premier League fixture list.

You have to do your homework and prepare appropriately for each and every game. If you don't, you get found out and anybody can beat anybody.Wednesday have a talented squad, which they have added to and there is no doubt about the threat they pose us. It is a tough place to go and a historical ground but for us it is about us. We will prepare well and focus on our level of performance.

Their strike force contains Hooper, Fletcher, Rhodes and Forestieri so it is a very talented squad. We know that we have to be disciplined, solid and compact defensively and bright and positive offensively.'

Sheffield Wednesday Team News:

Fernando Forestieri has been ruled out for up to 3 months with a knee injury, whilst Glenn Loovens is also struggling with a hip injury.

Deadline day signings Joost Van Aken & Jacob Butterfield are expected to make their debuts, with the latter joining on loan from Derby.

Carlos Carvalhal will have to watch from the stands after being banned by The Football League for 2 games.

Player to watch: Jordan Rhodes

The 27 year Scottish International striker joined Wednesday in the summer after a £10m permanent switch from Boro.

He has scored 2 from 5 appearances but will hope to add to that tally against a leaky Reds defence.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Injuries yet again impact upon Forest's season, with Chris Cohen, Jamie Ward & Matty Cash all injured.

They are joined by deadline day signing, Adam Federici as well as David Vaughan and Stephen Henderson, although the latter pair are nearing a return.

Player to watch: Jordan Smith

Forest's 22 year keeper has not kept a clean sheet since the opening day of the season, but will no doubt face a very busy afternoon at Hillsborough.

With Adam Federici joining on loan and Stephen Henderson nearing a return to fitness, Jordan will need to prove that he deserves his starting place and where better to prove that than by shutting out The Owls.

Match Facts & Stats

The Owls have won 2, drawn 3 and lost 2 of their 7 matches this season, scoring 10 but conceding 8 and with 6 points secured. They have drawn both home league fixtures (1-1) and secured a point at Burton last time out, with the same scoreline.

Forest have won 5 and lost 2 of their 7 fixtures so far, scoring 13 but conceding 11 - both defeats coming in the league, as they sit 6th with 9 points.

In very similar fashion to last season, Forest are struggling to prevent teams from scoring against them, so a 0-0 scoreline is highly unlikely.

Ref Watch:

Today's Referee is Andrew Madley, his 7th game in charge this season, the previous 6 have yielded 16 yellows and no red cards. Last Season he officiated 43 matches, yielding 146 yellows and 8 red cards.

Mr Madley will be assisted by Neil Davies and Robert Merchant, with Sebastian Stockbridge as 4th Official.

Match Prediction:

The Bookies have The Owls as odds on favourites for a home win, especially given their recent win record against Forest and the fact that Forest are far too often poor when on Sky.

Head 'unfortunately' says home win, heart hopes for a point (1-1).

Next Fixtures:

Forest hit the road again, with another tough looking fixture away at Sunderland on Tuesday, 12th September (7-45 KO).
