Hull v Forest; A Vital Match Preview

Hull City
vs.
Nottingham Forest

KCOM Stadium

Saturday, 28th October, 2017.

5-30 pm.

On Sky

Mark Warburton's Forest face travel to the KCOM Stadium to take on Leonid Slutsky`s Hull for this evening`s televised Championship fixture.

Vital Quotes:

Mark Warburton, faced the Press ahead the weekend fixture at Hull to air his views:

'With the games coming thick and fast, you need to focus on finding a quality and consistent performance week in, week out. I wasn`t pleased with the game against Burton but we got the 3 points and there is more to come from us.

Hull will be bemoaning their inconsistency, as they are very strong some weeks and weak in the next. They have a squad of very talented individual players and they are also seeking that consistency.

It will be a strong challenge, they are at home and they have shown they can score goals. We will have to defend our goal with a passion but also believe in what we do, get on the football and be positive with our decision making.'

Hull City Team News:

Abel Hernandez, Will Keand, Evandro & Stephen Kingsley all miss out, but Forest target Jackson Irvine & Fraizer Campbell, who netted the winner last time out, will both be hoping for starts, whilst David Meyler is available after serving a suspension.

Player to watch: Jarrod Bowen

The 20 year old joined Hull in July 2014 from Hereford, but has hardly featured for the Tigers until this season, when he has found a rich vein of form for Slutsky, netting 7 times in 13 appearances.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Jack Hobbs and Chris Cohen remain sidelined, with doubts surrounding Armand Traore and Danny Fox, who both picked up knocks in the win against the Brewers.

Matty Cash could return to the match day squad for the first time this season, with Joe Worrall likely to start if Fox & Traore sit this one out.

Jamie Ward is yet to start a game this season, but Warburton would surely prefer to limit the changes to the side that won last time out.

Player to watch: Daryl Murphy

The 34 year old Irish striker, joined Forest in the summer & has since netted 8 goals this season, although 2 of those were for Ireland in the World Cup Qualifier.

Although, Murphy has 6 in 13 appearances for Forest, he has not scored in his Last 3 games, so today would be a great day to return to form!

Match Facts & Stats

Forest have 2 wins in their last 3 league games, and managed to keep just their 3rd clean sheet in the home victory against Burton.

Warburton`s men are 12th in the table, with 18 points from 13 games (w6, d0, L7), scoring 17, but conceding 21 (the 5th highest in the Championship).

Hull have 16 points from 13 games, occupying 14th position in the table (w4, d4, l5) - a run that sees them with just 1 defeat in their last 6 games and notably scoring 18 of their 24 goals (the highest in the League) at home. The tigers have conceded 20, but just 8 of those at the KCom

Ref Watch:

Jeremy Simpson will be centre stage as this evening`s Referee, for the 13th time this season - the previous 12 have yielded 50 yellows and 2 red cards. Last season he oversaw 40 games, brandishing 166 yellows and 6 red cards.

Mr Simpson will be assisted by Nick Hopton and Nigel Lugg, with Scott Duncan as 4th Official.

Match Prediction:

Hull are the clear Bookies favourites, given that Forest have lost 5 of their last 7 games against them, coupled with the fact that Forest have yet to gain a single point in any of their televised games this season.

Head says comfortable home win, heart hopes for a draw to break the Sky hoodoo - I certainly wouldn`t bet on 0-0!

Next Fixtures:

Forest hit the road again, with a Halloween trip to the Madejski to take on Reading Tuesday, 31st October (8-00pm KO).
